Leeds United fans have been reacting to claims surrounding a potential swoop for Ross Barkley in the upcoming transfer window.

According to a recent report in The Daily Mail, Chelsea seem happy to let Barkley, who has won 33 caps for England, leave in the January transfer window, whilst also noting that Leeds are showing an interest in taking him on loan.

Barkley has spent a spell on loan at Elland Road previously, making four appearances back in 2013.

Which comedian supports the Whites?

Speaking in an interview with Football Insider, former Rangers and Scotland manager Alex McLeish claimed that Barkley has a lot to offer and that he could be a real asset to a side like Leeds, saying: “Ross has got great quality. Whenever you see him coming on the pitch you think: ‘Wow, that guy is so talented.’

“It’s just about him getting regular football because there’s a bit of inconsistency about him. I would have thought a player like that could enhance Leeds, so yes, get it done.”

These comments were relayed to fans by the Leeds Insider Facebook page for fans to react to, where the majority didn’t seem to take too kindly to the idea of signing him, with some thinking he wouldn’t be up to the standards required to work under Marcelo Bielsa:

Given Leeds’ problems when it comes to putting a squad together this season, it’s not as if they can be picky when it comes to extra bodies, so perhaps they shouldn’t be so dismissive straight away.
