A number of Leeds United fans have flocked to Twitter to vent their frustrations at a fresh transfer claim to emerge regarding Illan Meslier.
According to Spanish reports (via Sport Witness), Barcelona manager Xavi is showing an interest in the Leeds shot-stopper as a potential long-term successor for Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The claim comes amid a difficult period of rebuilding for Barcelona after losing Lionel Messi over the summer, sacking Ronald Koeman and bringing in the former midfielder as his replacement.
And as the La Liga side sit slumped in eighth spot of the table, Leeds fans flocked to the claim after it was relayed on Twitter, with the 21-year-old Frenchman reportedly on Barca’s list of potential targets.

The claim comes just months after the club’s financial issues were at the forefront of Barcelona’s downfall over the summer, which saw Messi forced out of the club.
However, despite this, it is apparent these Leeds fans are praying Meslier does not leave Elland Road any time soon – which is barely a surprise.
Meslier has been at the heart of Leeds’ recent success in both the Premier League and Championship after playing crucial roles in both for Marcelo Bielsa and it’s clear these fans do not want to see that come to an end (via Transfermarkt).
