Football podcaster KageyVision has slammed Leeds United for conceding too many ‘easy’ goals and allowing the opposition to benefit from ‘stupid mistakes’.

Leeds have been on a rotten run of form lately, claiming just one point from a possible 12 in December so far, leaving them in a precarious position as we near the halfway point of the season.

In their last league outing, Marcelo Bielsa’s men shipped four goals at home in a loss to Arsenal, having recently conceded seven Manchester City. Meanwhile, before that, they let in three against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Evidently, defence is not the club’s strong point right now. While speaking on the One Leeds Fan Channel on YouTube, KageyVision suggested as much, stating that the ‘problem’ is that it’s too easy for the opposition to attack – as if it is a ‘FIFA game on easy mode’.

He said: “The problem is, people are literally walking through the middle of our defence and just going through and scoring, it’s so easy. It’s like watching a FIFA game on easy mode right now.

“And I think that’s what’s so hard to take. All the goals that we are conceding right now are just so easy, or they’re from stupid mistakes, ie the penalties against Chelsea.”

TIF Thoughts on Leeds and their problems…

In fairness to Bielsa and co, it is not as if Leeds are operating with a full team. Indeed, according to the manager, in the most recent loss to Arsenal, the home side were without seven defenders.

Who was Bielsa's first competitive game as Leeds manager against?

No doubt, these absences in recent weeks have played a big part in Leeds’ defensive frailties. Even so, the Yorkshire team are one game shy of reaching the halfway mark in the season and have had plenty of games to prove their quality at the back.

Unfortunately, however, this has been a weak point throughout. As things stand, only Newcastle United have conceded more goals (41), compared to Leeds’ 36.

Things will need to change soon, with or without key defenders available, if Bielsa’s men are to avoid the drop.
