A whole host of Leeds United fans have flocked to Twitter following Phil Hay’s transfer update.

Leeds United may well count themselves as one of the most unlucky teams this season because of the sheer volume of injuries they have had to cope with this campaign and Marcelo Bielsa confirmed during his pre-match press conference that Jamie Shackleton and Daniel James have now picked up injuries.

Will Leeds be relegated?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

With Leeds facing a seemingly never-ending injury crisis Bielsa got talking about potentially signing players in January, which was something he did not do last season and Hay reported that Bielsa said ‘he just wants players who are better than what is currently here and he’s aware of how much the club have spent already.

A lot of Leeds fans on Twitter are not happy with these comments from Bielsa.

What have these Leeds fans been saying?

“Sick of this argument. Our bench is full of children, I don’t think it’ll be too hard, or expensive, to sign players who are an upgrade on them”

@JakeLUFC_

“is he joking”

@actualIynarry

“Yes but he said he didnt want them in the summer. Very stupid if you ask me as we have always picked up injuries and whilst Covid is still here.”

@k9myp

“This sounds like him conceding we need quality signings in January, just in Bielsa speak?”

@cawthornejosh

“We definitely need a stronger squad though, or we will continue to struggle. That’s really the choice. We are not going to get much more from current 1st team, younger players will need time. Pity the last 2 we signed have not cut the mustard.”

@Daffa_Daffer

“Why do they have to be better than we have Surely if they are as good but fit they’ll do a job”

@Rob__Robinson

These Leeds fans are clearly frustrated with Bielsa saying he only wants to sign players than what he already has at his disposal, but considering most of the first team players at his disposal are in the injury room, it would make more sense to just sign some players for general squad depth that can plug the holes until others are back fit.
