Football journalist Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on the latest episode of the Here We Go podcast to discuss the future of Conor Gallagher at Crystal Palace.

The 21-year-old midfielder joined the Eagles on a season-long loan and the transfer expert has claimed his parent club will not be recalling the youngster in the January window.

Gallagher has made an impressive start to life at Selhurst Park with six goals and three assists in the 16 Premier League appearances he has made under Patrick Vieira.

A product of the Chelsea youth development system, Gallagher is now set to spend a third full season away from Stamford Bridge on loan (via Transfermarkt).

Discussing Chelsea’s stance on Gallagher remaining with the Eagles until the end of the season, Romano had the following to say:

“For Conor Gallagher, he’s doing very good with Crystal Palace on loan, but they are not recalling the player in January. This is the plan, this is the intention from Chelsea, and so it’s very clear and they’re super happy with his performances, they’re super happy with his attitude also with Crystal Palace.”

TIF Thoughts on Gallagher at Palace…

We think Gallagher established himself as a Premier League quality player last season during his loan spell with West Bromwich Albion despite the Baggies being relegated.

However, we feel the midfielder has taken his game to another level this season with Palace, which can be seen through the 21-year-old’s output in front of goal (via Transfermarkt).

With another few months with the Eagles confirmed by Romano, we will be very interested to see whether Gallagher would like to then prove his worth at his parent club where Thomas Tuchel already has a star-studded midfield.

One thing which we could be certain of is Palace being desperate to keep Gallagher at Selhurst Park if he is to carry his form into the second half of the season.
