Celtic booked a date with the League Cup final after scraping St Johnstone off the Hampden Park pitch.
It had been a home away from home for the Saints, reaching the semi-final again after a cup double last season. Their run in the competition was ended though as substitute James Forrest fired home to send Ange Postecoglou’s side to the final.

Although they managed to keep a clean sheet, the defensive unit didn’t impress much, especially defensive midfielder Nir Bitton. He was singled out for individual criticism from the Celtic faithful.

Bitton clearly had many fans disappointed with his showing in a major game, but the main thing for Celtic is they’re in the final. If Postecoglou agrees with supporters, he can now make the relevant changes for the final.
After picking up a booking in the opening 15 minutes, playing as the six in a midfield three can always be difficult. He managed to nurse the situation and not receive a second booking, but the Celtic fans still didn’t like what they saw.
