A number of Celtic fans have vented their anger at Nir Bitton after his poor performance in the club’s latest Europa League game.

In the penultimate matchday in Group G, the Bhoys travelled to Germany to play Bayer Leverkusen. Coming into the match, Celtic were third in the group, with their opponents leading the way.

The 30-year-old midfielder was trusted by manager Ange Postecoglou to start the game, but seemed to struggle to assert himself in the match with some sloppy individual moments, particularly in the first half.

During the fixture, Biton’s underwhelming display was noticed by many Celtic fans on social media. It’s safe to say they weren’t pleased with what they had seen.

Here’s what these Celtic fans said about Nir Bitton’s performance against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League…

“Bitton is good enough in league, miles off it in Europe.”
“Sorry but Bitton should’ve been sold years ago.”
“Our midfield may as well be sitting in the changing room. Turnbull and Bitton offer nothing off the ball.”
“Bitton is having a stinker.”
“Bitton out of his depth. How many strolled it post about him tonight?”
“Bitton is having a terrible game, loves a mare on a European game.”
“Bitton has been shocking, just giving the ball away constantly.”

As evidenced in these comments, it’s easy to see just how mad the Celtic supporters were at witnessing such a disappointing showing from one of their players.
