Celtic fans have been reacting to comments that have emerged about Albian Ajeti and a possible transfer out of the club.
The Swiss forward has been somewhat inconsistent when it comes to playing for Celtic since his move from West Ham in the summer of 2020, making just 44 appearances in all competitions and often going through spells where he doesn’t make it onto the pitch.
Those struggles have continued this season as he has only started five games in all competitions, not helped by the arrival of Georgios Giakoumakis providing him with some competition for a starting spot.
And speaking in an interview with Football Insider, former Scotland boss Alex McLeish believes that the 24-year-old might try and force a move away from the club during the upcoming January transfer window:
“I suspect there will be agents working in the background trying to get him a move. Any player worth their salt, if they aren’t playing they will be looking to find a move. So it wouldn’t surprise me if that one happens.”
These comments were relayed to fans by the Celtic Insider Facebook page for them to react to alongside the question “Is it time to part ways with Ajeti?”, where the responses seemed to be overwhelming in their desire to see him go:
Should Ajeti be starting more frequently?
Yes
No
It’s no surprise really, given how many more players are ahead of him on the scoring charts, you can see why he might well be surplus to requirements for Ange Postecoglou this season and why you wouldn’t blame him for looking to move somewhere else to get an opportunity to play.
