Plenty of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter after loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers revealed he is ‘open’ to making his Parkhead loan a permanent move.

Carter-Vickers, who is set to line up for the Glasgow club in their penultimate Europa League group game against Bayer Leverkusen in Germany tonight, moved to Scotland from Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan back in August.

The United States international has been a regular starter in Ange Postecoglou’s team since arriving both in Europe and domestically, with the club conceding the fewest goals in the league so far this campaign having looked incredibly potent in keeping goals out in recent games.

Now, as per The Daily Record, the 23-year-old has revealed that he is open to a permanent move to Parkhead, but emphasised that his primary focus is on maintaining his excellent form this season.

Asked about the prospect of him signing full-time with Celtic in the summer, Carter-Vickers said: “It is something I am open to, but I haven’t given it much thought at this stage, to be fair. I still have plenty of games left in this season and that is my focus.”

@ReissFerguson

“The Mountain must stay! He’s been class since he arrived and gets better every week. Knows when to play football and when to clear his lines. Takes no prisoners either. Would be a great signing if we kept him on”

@WhatRickySaid

“Big man keeps it simple headers and clears the ball the way hes facing nothing fancy defend first ask questions later somthing like a boyata or that would never understand”

@Richardmccull10

“Arguably as necessary as signing Jota, been solid at the back with Starfelt”

@CG1752_

“I’d say he’s a must,slotted well into the team, rarely loses out on aerial battles,good passer and does the simple thing when needed,no brainer I’d say!”

Postecoglou’s side have an option to buy the Tottenham defender – who has gone out on loan seven times in the past four years – at the end of the 2021/22 campaign if they meet the Lilywhites’ asking price.
