A whole host of Celtic fans are delighted on Twitter to see Anthony Ralston sign a new contract with the club.

Ralston is a Celtic academy graduate, but up until this season under Ange Postecoglou, he has struggled for any form of meaningful game time, managing to appear just once in the SPFL last season despite the Bhoys’ torrid run of form and results.

Will Celtic win a trophy this season?

Yes!

No!

This season has been a revelation for the 22-year-old right-back, who’s started 10 of the 12 league games as well as scoring three times and registering two assists under the new manager. He has now earned himself a new contract which runs until the summer of 2025.

A lot of Celtic fans are buzzing on Twitter following this Ralston news.

What have these Celtic fans been saying?

“Future captain.”

@Alfieshelby

“Absolutely delighted for the lad. Silenced the critics and gives 100% every time he pulls on a Celtic jersey. Thoroughly deserved”

Celtic fans will be hoping that this news is a signal of things to come this week as they have two big fixtures against Ferencvaros and then Dundee FC. A win against the former could put them in a great place for challenging for the Europa League knockout rounds and three points against the latter could certainly put the pressure on Rangers in the league.

    “Best news ever”? Really? We are that starved for good news that Ralston signing a four year contract makes headlines?
    No disrespect to a guy who has been taking his opportunity and playing out of his skin, but a player performing to his absolute highest level doesn’t make him a world beater! Not everyone’s best is the same level of good!
