A whole host of international fans on Twitter were buzzing to see how well Celtic’s Callum McGregor performed against Denmark.

McGregor started the crucial match against Denmark alongside Billy Gilmour in what was a 3-4-3 formation and it certainly worked as Scotland took a 1-0 first-half lead against the semi-finalists from Euro 2020 and managed to double their lead in the second half.

Will Celtic win the league this season?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

The Celtic midfielder was handed the captain’s armband this season following the departure of long-time servant Scott Brown to Aberdeen and he will now be hopeful of lifting the SPFL title after Rangers lost manager Steven Gerrard to Aston Villa.

Scotland managed to contain Denmark, and this will have been largely down to the way McGregor performed in the centre of midfield and his willingness to work tirelessly at both ends of the pitch, which was duly noted.

A lot of international fans were very happy to see how well McGregor performed for Scotland.

What have these fans been saying?

McGregor was the only player to score for Scotland at Euro 2020 over the summer and if Scotland can navigate their way through the World Cup play-offs, he may get a chance to score out in Qatar next winter for his country.
