Celtic fans have had a mixed start to the season under Ange Postecoglou, reaching the League Cup final, but falling four points adrift of Rangers in the league already.
One of the standouts for Celtic has to be the performances of Jota. The Portuguese is on-loan currently from Benfica, with fans desperate to see the deal made permanent.
The left winger has 12 goal contributions in 15 appearances so far this season in an even split of goals and assists (via TransferMarkt). The loan deal does have an option to buy, but Postecoglou wants to nail him down permanently to the club as soon as possible.
According to Pedro Almeida, a Portuguese insider specialising in transfers, Celtic are looking to do the deal in January.

Given his impressive start to the season, it’s obvious why the Celtic fans would love him to be a permanent fixture of the squad. There’s nothing worse for fans than falling in love with loan players!
The benefit of pushing the deal through in January rather than waiting till the end of the season is to stop interest from other clubs.
If he carries on playing like he is, there’s nothing to stop an even bigger club coming knocking for his signature and him rejecting Celtic. So if they can get a deal done it’ll be huge for the Hoops!
