A number of Celtic fans have expressed their delight online after hearing Anthony Ralston speak to the press following their club’s recent win.

Over the weekend, the Bhoys claimed an impressive 4-2 away victory over Dundee. A brace each for Jota and Kyogo Furuhashi was more than enough to overcome strikes from Danny Mullen and Lee Ashcroft on the day, with Ralston claiming two assists himself.

The winning performance would have been particularly sweet for Ralston, however, as it capped off a week where he signed a new contract – that will see him remain at the club until the summer of 2025 – as well as also winning in the Europa League.

When asked about the win and his exciting recent past few days, he said: “I’m delighted, it was a good win today and the boys played brilliant.”

The interview was shared by the official Celtic Twitter account and it soon caught the eye of many happy supporters.

Here’s what these Celtic fans had to say…

“Legend in the making.”

“Turning into a leader.”
“Thing is he clearly is working very hard in training as his improvement already this season has been amazing. Goes to show what a real manager does, not someone who just picks a team.”
“Was not anyone’s first choice including mine but massive congrats to him. He’s changed my mind and has the grit and determination as well, as no little skill and talent to be at Celtic Park for many years proper Tim playing for the jersey. Ange coach supreme.
“Not for me to say, but he’s the best right-back in the country.”
“How this man hasn’t got an international call up I’ll never know.”

It’s clear to see just how impressed all these fans are following the 22-year-old’s recent form. Under Ange Postecoglou, he’s become a trusted regular in this Celtic side, starting all but two of the club’s 13 league games to date.

Ralston’s growth in the past 12 months or so is evidenced clearly by the fact that he played just once in the Scottish Premier League in the entirety of last season (as per Transfermarkt).
