A whole host of Celtic fans were buzzing on Twitter following links to Japanese player Reo Hatate.
It appears clear that new manager Ange Postecoglou is tapping into his contacts from his previous jobs to bring in players and attract others as he brought in Kyogo Furuhashi over the summer having seen him play in the J-League previously and links to Daizen Maeda have been confirmed to be true by Kieran Devlin, and he could fit into Postecoglou’s system seamlessly given they’ve worked together before.

The Japanese scouting mission appears to still be in full flow as according to Football Scotland, the Bhoys are currently in negotiations with Hatate’s agent.
Hatate is fresh off the back from winning the Japanese top division with Kawasaki Frontale and his versatility along the left-hand side could be a solid option for Postecoglou.

Hatate appears to be a very versatile and flexible player as this season he’s played as a left-back, centre-midfielder and attacking midfielder, so Celtic fans may not quite know what Postecoglou has in store for him in terms of what his role would be if he arrived.
