A whole host of Celtic fans are delighted on Twitter to see new links surface regarding Daizen Maeda.

Shopping in the Asian market over the summer benefitted Celtic hugely, as the signing of Kyogo Furuhashi has proved to be a masterstroke given how well he’s performed, with 13 goals in just 21 appearances across all competitions.

Given Ange Postecoglou’s previous experiences managing in the Japanese top flight, he now appears keen to revisit that market in January, as Scott Burns has reported that the manager wants to sign Maeda, claiming they will have to shell out £3m on the striker.

It’s no surprise why Celtic are reportedly looking to sign Maeda as he found the net 22 times in 39 appearances for Yokohama F Marinos, and coupled with the fact that the Hoops only have two recognised strikers at the minute, they could do with more bodies in January.
