Celtic take on St Johnstone in the League Cup semi-final this evening, knowing they have the chance to set up a potential spectacle in the final against arch rivals Rangers.

Despite being incredibly confident before the game, the team news from Hampden Park was disappointing for the Celtic faithful.

With players looking like returning from injury, Ange Postecoglou was taking no chances, with players such as Christopher Jullien only fit enough for a place on the bench.

It looks a very strong team on paper for Celtic, but that doesn’t mean all fans are happy!

How the Celtic fans responded

“No Jullien?!” @wegdog42

“Should be enough today but can’t help feeling with three or four quality signings we won’t be far away. Looking at that bench we really need to get the chequebook out.” @manky_bianchi

“What’s Shane Duffy got to do to get a game?!” @Ceern__

 “Giakamous?” @cfcliam4

“No Rogic oh no!” @scot_sim

“Where’s big GG?” @joe83duffy

“More frustrating forward play from Juranovic imminent” @Dingleb23910737

Despite being the heavy favourites, it’s clear to see that the Celtic fans are unhappy with the selection made by Postecoglou.

His side are looking to be the first team to beat the Saints for a while in the competition. After winning it last season, they’ve showed no sign of letting up, reaching the semi-final again. They’ll be doing everything in their power to beat Celtic and deny the showpiece final of Celtic taking on Rangers.

Has Postecoglou made the right call? Is it worth risking Jullien when there is still plenty of work to be done to catch Rangers in the league?
