Express & Star journalist Luke Hatfield can see some sense behind Wolves’ Adama Traore joining Valencia.

According to Ekrem Konur, the La Liga outfit are preparing to make an offer for the 25-year-old, though Wolves are keen to hand him a new three-year deal.

Traore has had a difficult campaign so far, failing to score in any of his first 10 league games this season.

At the end of the term, he will have just one year to run on his current contract, so Wolves may have to consider a sale soon. And if that does turn out to be the case, Hatfield believes a move to Valencia would make sense.

“I don’t know whether Valencia will be one which reaches out to Traore,” the football reporter said to TIF. “Obviously, he’s a Spanish international, so it does make some sense there.”

Last season, Traore also had his struggles, coming up with just four goal contributions in total in the Premier League, a dip from the 13 he managed the campaign prior (via WhoScored).

If he does stay, manager Bruno Lage will be hoping for him to reach those heights again and consistently support the likes of Raul Jimenez and Hwang Hee-chan in attack.
