West Ham United insider ExWHUemployee has revealed that the club have ‘looked at’ Czech Republic striker Jan Kuchta.

For all their good form at the moment, the Hammers are still somewhat vulnerable over one key detail: aside from Michail Antonio, the club do not have another recognised striking option.

Indeed, the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Andriy Yarmolenko have been asked to play the striker’s role in the absence of Antonio. With this lack of depth, it seems like that the club will look for a new striker this January.

While talking about the possibility, ExWHUemployee explained that the Slavia Prague forward could be a prime target to solve the issue, as the club have already had their eye on him.

Speaking on The West Ham Way podcast, he provided insight on a possible option from Sparta Prague before mentioning Kuchta, saying: One player that they have is a guy called Adam Hlozek, who has been linked to West Ham many times before, and is a young striker with a lot of talent. So he potentially could be somebody looked at in January.

“Slavia Prague also, sort of like their rivals, also have a striker called Jan Kuchta. And he is someone that we’ve looked at as well. So they could be potential targets in January.”

TIF Thoughts on Jan Kuchta and West Ham…

Kuchta has produced seven goals and eight assists so far this season in just 17 games in all competitions.

He has shown no signs of slowing following last season’s 20-goal haul in the Czech league, grabbing six goals and four assists in just 10 outings.

The other name to be mentioned by ExWHUemployee was Hlozek. Still only 19 years old, the teenager seems to be a promising talent. Not only has he scored four times and assisted eight more this campaign, but he also has an international goal to his name already.

Having signed Czech duo Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal in the recent past, it would make sense for West Ham to seek out players from that country once more – especially when they could really do with a backup striker.
