Lots of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to Twitter following a claim to emerge concerning the aims for the club during the tenure of Antonio Conte.
The Italian was appointed as the Spurs manager earlier in the month and there have already been reports on where the club view their future after the 52-year-old.

According to The Athletic, people at the north London club are hoping Conte will be able to leave his role at Spurs with the club at a point where they can attract former coach Mauricio Pochettino back to N17.
It has now almost been two years since Pochettino was sacked by Spurs and since his departure, the Lilywhites have failed to finish higher than sixth in the Premier League table.
Spurs fans flocked to Twitter to share their frustrations on the claim to emerge, with many left puzzled by the club’s reported interest in what is next after Conte.

“That’s actually embarrassing, I love poch as much as the next Spurs fan but Conte is twice the manger he is. I want Conte here to win Us trophies and to get us fighting at the top again, not to get our old manager back who won us nothing. We got to move on, it’s new era”
Pochettino is currently working in France with Paris Saint-Germain, where his contractual stay is set to expire in June 2023 – which is ironically the same time as Conte’s contract runs out at Spurs.
It is apparent these fans have been left far from impressed by the claim and they clearly want to see their board provide Conte – who is a proven winner – with everything to succeed, rather than focus on his eventual successor.

I fear this all came about because of me.
I was on a Spurs website 2 days after Conte was appointed and merely said “This is an 18 month contract. Poch has 18 months left on HIS contract. I wonder if the two are connected.” I said nothing more than that and I fear people have jumped to the conclusion that this is DEFINITELY the case. As you can see, I have absolutely no idea if they are, I just thought it suspicious and nothing more. However, coincidences do happen and this could merely be one! It is actually VERY smart though if Levy arranged this, that way Conte has 18 months to turn our club around and if not well,,who knows?
