Tottenham Hotspur fans react to mass transfer exodus rumours as Antonio Conte’s Spurs era commences, with attacking quartet all linked with departures from the north London club.
According to Italian Daily Gazzetta dello Sport (via AS), Spurs manager Antonio Conte is reportedly keen to offload the quartet of Lo Celso, Steven Bergwijn, Lucas Moura and Dele Alli from the club, while the Lilywhites are also close to striking an agreement with AC Milan midfielder Frank Kessié.
Conte, who has taken over at Tottenham following the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo following the north London’s poor start to the 2021/22 campaign, is known to be an incredibly demanding manager when it comes to reshaping his squad and Spurs are expected to invest in the transfer talent pool in the upcoming January transfer window.
Can Conte lead Spurs into the top four this season?
Conte will begin evaluating the players he inherited from Nuno to decide who all features in his plans at the club. And, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Spurs quartet of Lucas, Alli, Lo Celso and Bergwijn will be allowed to leave the club with the former Juventus, Italy, Chelsea and Inter Milan manager at the helm.
The latest transfer rumours have subsequently seen Spurs fans take to Twitter.
What did Spurs make of latest transfer update?
“Tottenham Legend already is Antonio”
“No argument from me with there, time to be ruthless”
“Already in love if this happens”
“I’d rather keep Lucas, but whatever the boss man says”
Alli has struggled to impress this season under Nuno and Spurs and Daniel Levy are understood to be open to letting him go in January, while Lo Celso has been a bit-part player since his arrival from Real Betis on season long loan in the summer of 2019 before making a permanent move to the Premier League outfit last summer.
Having returned from injury in mid-October, Bergwijn has made two Premier League appearances off the bench. Meanwhile, Lucas was a fixture in the squad during Nuno’s reign and impressed during Conte’s first game in charge of the club on Thursday night, a 3-2 win against Vitesse Arnhem in the Europa Conference League.
It remains to be seen what decision Conte will take regarding the Spurs quartet’s future as the Italian and north London outfit seek to transform their fortunes on the pitch and reignite their campaign.
