Tottenham Hotspur fans may have enjoyed the international break more than others so far. They saw star man Harry Kane bag the perfect hat-trick while captaining England.

It’s been a worrying start to the season for Spurs, seeing them sack Nuno Espirito Santo and replacing him with Antonio Conte. Results weren’t the only thing fans had to worry about.

Kane’s move to Manchester City in the summer never materialised, and the forward hasn’t looked the same since. He was way below par at the Euros over the summer, and is yet to set the world alight for Spurs this campaign.

He did look more like himself for England this time round, scoring three in a 5-0 win over Albania. The outspoken Roy Keane couldn’t resist ripping into Spurs and the forward during ITV’s coverage, claiming he’s a Spurs player so should be used to disappointment, leading to the expected backlash on Twitter!

How Spurs fans reacted to Roy Keane’s comments

“I hate Keane, he is a Spurs hater and not neutral.” @David271013

“Never liked Keane anyway!” @hartnett1977

“The same Roy Keane who said ‘everyone beats Spurs’ and then Spurs beat united 6-0.” @TonyCro1409

“He had a fixed agenda to slate anything last night… Pundits often feel too scripted.” @shaunle61197008

“Roy Keane… Boring.” @JoshuaMiless

“Swear he’s a Spurs fan.” @TanguySzN8

The fact Spurs fans are annoyed is no shock, you’re protective over your club and it’s never nice to hear someone bad mouth them. The frustration was always going to be there when the dig from the now Sky Sports pundit Keane came when Spurs were not even playing, and their player had just scored three!
