Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to comments made by former manager Harry Redknapp about Dele Alli.
Alli has suffered a terrible slump at Tottenham Hotspur over the past few years. Having been scoring and assisting in double figures five years ago, he slumped to just three goals and five assists for them last season during a campaign in which he struggled to get into the team and had problems with former boss Jose Mourinho.
Speaking on Sky Sports News (as per HITC), Redknapp thinks that Alli might be able to come good under newly appointed Spurs boss Antonio Conte, stating: “Get Dele Alli playing. Find a key to him. That’s going to be a big challenge for him. If he gets him playing, then it’s going to be like having a new £120 million signing because Dele Alli is a great talent.”
The comments were then picked up by Football.London and then relayed onto the Tottenham Hotspur – Football.London Facebook page for fans to react to, and it’s fair to say that they didn’t agree with Redknapp on this one, with some hinting that it might be too late for the 25-year-old to resurrect his career at Spurs:
Will Dele Alli still be at Spurs after the January transfer market?
Yes
No
There’s only really going to be one way to find out, as with two games this week before the international break, we might just get a hint into what the future might hold for him depending on what role, if any, he plays in the games coming up under Conte.
