Plenty of Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left wowed after seeing some footage appear of talented youngster Dilan Markanday.

In recent times, things have been rather exciting over in north London. Nuno Espirito Santo was fired and Premier League title winner Antonio Conte was brought in to replace him.

Now, in the very first steps of a new era, one name is getting many Spurs fans rather excited.

The club’s official Twitter page shared a video of Markanday impressing at academy level, where he has scored in three consecutive games in Premier League 2, including his equaliser against Brighton & Hove Albion on Friday, as well as one of his strikes against Manchester City, which was delightfully set up by fellow prospect Jack Clarke.

Tottenham supporters flocked to the post to express their optimism.

“He’s started to remind me of Mo Salah. His style of play is familiar to the Egyptian.”

Looking at these comments, it’s clear to see that many fans would prefer to see Markanday in the first team ahead of a number of first-team stars such as Harry Kane, Dele Alli, and Giovani Lo Celso.

Considering Conte’s first league game in charge saw a fairly frustrating 0-0 draw play out against Everton, the Italian manager may well turn to youth if his senior players continue to underperform. If so, Markanday seems to be one of the most talented prospects available.

    Youtube footage can make anyone look great, all you see are the best bits. He may turn out to be a good player for us but as for now we are desperate for some world class quality to be brought in.
