Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to news surrounding the future of Harry Winks at the club.
The 25-year-old has very much been an afterthought at Tottenham this season, only making five starts in all competitions, just one of which was in the Premier League, but it looks as if he could be about to be given another chance at a different club with a familiar face.
According to a report in Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, AS Roma boss and former Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho could potentially be looking at the midfielder as an option in the January transfer window.
The news was relayed to Spurs fans by @LastWordOnSpurs and @thespursweb for them to react to, where they seemed to be more than happy about the idea of him moving on in January:
“This would be his greatest accomplishment for Tottenham”
Does Winks need to leave in January?
Yes
No
With his lack of production in a Spurs shirt, only bagging four goals and five assists during his time at the club, it’s easy to see why the fans might be so happy to get rid of him.
Meanwhile, it does come across as a rather odd move for Mourinho to make, considering that Winks’ playing time dropped significantly during Mourinho’s second season in charge at the club compared to how much he was used in his first. Perhaps he feels that Winks might be more suited to playing in Italy or could fit the system at AS Roma a little bit better.
