Lots of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to Twitter following the latest update to emerge from the north London club.

On Tuesday, the Lilywhites released their financial statement for the year ending 30th June 2021, in which it was confirmed the club has seen revenue decrease by £40.5m on the previous year.

Will Levy back Conte in January?

The update comes after the pandemic hit and saw Premier League football take place behind closed doors for the large majority of the 2020/21 campaign, leaving clubs short on revenue.

And Spurs fans flocked to Twitter to share their frustrations, with the club’s latest news regarding the financial state of the club ahead of the January transfer window.

What did these Spurs fans have to say?

“This doesn’t fill me with confidence that Conte will be given a rebuild”

“January is going to be fun…”
“Maybe nothing to it, but Levy’s “spending doesn’t guarantee success” line is a little worrying.”
“Wow. The hit in match reciepts is mad”
“How much has Don Levy blew on hiring and firing managers?”
“Welp here comes Levy spending £0.01”

Since the end of the financial year ending 30th June, Spurs have seen Nuno Espirito Santo come and go, and with Antonio Conte now at the helm, there is the expectation for the club to spend in January.

However, it seems this news has left some Spurs fans cautious over their thoughts ahead of the winter window, which is understandable given Spurs have previously gone full transfer windows without spending in the recent past.
