A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to Twitter to voice their thoughts on Fabrizio Romano’s latest claim on Antonio Conte and the Spurs board.

Romano has reported on his Here We Go podcast, the 52-year-old Spurs manager has been guaranteed by the north London club that he will be able to say ‘I need these players to win’ in the transfer market.

Will Levy back Conte with transfers?

Yes

No

No

He said: “He wants to have the power to say ‘I need these players to win’. It could be a top player, it could be a young player, it could be an old player worth €2m, but he needs these kinds of players and this kind of power – and this is what Tottenham guaranteed him.”

Romano went on to give a hint as to what they can expect their transfer activity to look like under Conte, stating: “I see them moving for a striker, maybe for a midfielder. I see them moving for a centre-back because they now play with a three centre-back defence and so they will need something on this position.”

The former Inter manager was appointed as Nuno Espirito Santo’s replacement last week and arrived in N17 just two months away from the January transfer window.

And Spurs fans flocked to Twitter to share their excitement for the future under Conte as many set their hopes high following Romano’s claims.

What did these Spurs fans have to say?

“What a glorious day, the breeze is stupendous”

“Title charge in Jan”
“Imagine if this is true oh my”
“January can’t come any sooner”
“We might actually be serious”
“We’re here to take over, not take part.”
“Actual tears in my eyes”
“Big if true. Cooommmmeeeeeeee on January transfer window!!!!”

Spurs have had a tricky start to the 2021/22 campaign, with 16 points from their opening 11 Premier League games as they sit six points adrift of the top four.

It is apparent these fans are delighted to hear this claim, which may come as a result of their far from impressive start to the campaign, which they hope Conte can rectify with some January signings.
