Lots of Tottenham Hotspur fans have erupted on Twitter over the latest claim to emerge ahead of the January transfer window.

According to journalist Ekrem Konur, the Lilywhites could make an offer to London rivals West Ham United for the services of striker Michail Antonio in January.

The West Ham ace has made an impressive start to the 2021/22 campaign which has seen the Jamaican find the back of the net six times in the 10 Premier League appearances he has made (via Transfermarkt).

Antonio still has just under two years remaining on his current deal with the Hammers, who find themselves soaring in third spot of the league table.

Spurs fans flooded to Twitter as they shared their thoughts on the claims to emerge – with many left far from impressed by the rumour.

What did these Spurs fans have to say?

“I get it because he is a typical Conte ST but no thanks”

“Oi imagine this actually happened West Ham fans would be livid”
“Wait what”
“This just ain’t gonna happen is it.”
“I’m gonna be sick”
“Don’t be ridiculous”

Currently, Harry Kane is the only senior striker at Spurs and these fans will be hoping he can carry on his form shown for the England national side from this weekend onwards, having scored just one goal in 10 league appearances this season.

It seems these fans are not keen on the rumour to emerge, which is surprising considering Antonio has such an impressive record against the Lilywhites, with six goals in 10 league games.
