Football insider Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on the latest YouTube video from the Last Word On Spurs channel to discuss all things Tottenham Hotspur.

One of the topics of discussion was the upcoming transfer window in January and potential targets in which Antonio Conte may look at to build on the Spurs side he has adopted.

Would Brozovic make for a good signing?

A name that has been linked by Gazzetta dello Sport (via GIFN) with the north London club recently is Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, who played under the Italian during his recent stint with the Serie A side.

The Croatian’s contract with the Serie A side is set to come to an end at the conclusion of the 2021/22 campaign and it is reported the club are trying to tie him down to a new deal.

Speaking about any potential interest coming from the north London club for the 28-year-old midfielder, Romano had the following to say ahead of the January window.

“As I said for [Franck] Kessie, it’s the same for Brozovic which I don’t see Paratici signing both players for Tottenham.

“But this kind of opportunity is something that he knows so well. So I’m sure that he’s a player in Tottenham’s bubble, but at the moment, they know that for Brozovic, the priority is talking with Inter. So I think we need to wait some months before deciding for these players.”

TIF Thoughts on Brozovic to Spurs…

The 28-year-old enjoyed a great spell of form under the Italian at Inter Milan where he was able to provide 15 assists over the course of his 88 appearances in all competitions (via Transfermarkt).

It would be interesting to see whose place in the starting XI Brozovic would take if he was to sign for Spurs in the coming transfer windows given Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has featured so prominently over the course of the last year.

Also, youngster Oliver Skipp has recently broken into the starting XI having returned from his loan spell with Norwich City, so we would be intrigued to see whether a potential deal for the Croatian would see Spurs’ formation change or their personnel in midfield change.
