Tottenham Hotspur reporter Alasdair Gold has been speaking on a recent Facebook Live stream to discuss all things regarding the north London club.

The Lilywhites were at the centre of the breaking news to emerge on Monday, with Nuno Espirito Santo relieved of his duties following their latest league defeat against Manchester United.

Will Spurs finish in the top six this season?

No

It had been a difficult start to the campaign for the former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager, who had seen his side lose five of their opening 10 Premier League games and slumped in third place of their Europa Conference League group.

The results have not been the only disappointment. One of the most significant differences from last season has been the drop in form of Harry Kane, who has only netted once in his nine league games thus far (via Transfermarkt).

Discussing his behind-the-scenes knowledge of the rumblings around the training ground regarding Espirito Santo’s time at the club, Gold had the following to say on how the players viewed the 47-year-old.

“Some of these players, you know, some of them have just been kind of labouring along, not winning anything in their careers and whingeing about training and things.

“I’ve heard indirectly from people around players, [they are] whingeing about how tough training sessions have been, how too easy training sessions have been, how training sessions have got stale and stuff like that. And it’s just like, oh come on. Just do what you got to do.”

TIF Thoughts on Tottenham’s recent displays…

Tottenham’s recent performances have been pretty concerning to us. Across their last four games in all competitions, they have been able to find the back of the net on just one occasion.

Adding to that, the Lilywhites went the full 90 minutes of the game at the weekend against United without having a single shot on target.

Whoever comes in as their new manager, it is apparent their attacking threat has to be solved. For a side that had Kane scoring 23 times and Heung-min Son scoring 17 times in the league last season, nine goals in their opening 10 games is simply not good enough.

As Gold alludes to, we feel there also has to be some responsibility taken on by this set of players, who have now seen two managers (Jose Mourinho & Espirito Santo) come and go relatively quickly.

Gold is a complete fraud. He knows nothing about Tottenham that is not already in the public domain. Anyone can make up guesses and say ‘my sources’. He has never broken a story or found out anything of any importance. Absolute clown
