Former Tottenham Hotspur player Graham Roberts believes that Antonio Conte won’t put up with players not pulling their weight in the team and if there are any players like that, they will be on their way!

Conte was appointed Tottenham Head Coach earlier this week after the club parted company with Nuno Espirito Santo following the club’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester United.

Having had success at previous clubs such as Bari, Juventus, Inter Milan and Chelsea, where he won trophies, Roberts believes that Conte won’t put up with players not pulling their weight, telling This is Futbol: “I think these players now have got a kick-up the backside that they deserve because this manager will not put up with lazy players and players not pulling their weight in the team and if there is any bad apples in there, they’ll be found out very quickly and be on their way.”

The new Tottenham Head Coach has signed an 18-month deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with an option to extend according the club’s official website and Conte is looking forward to the job, saying: “I can’t wait to start working to convey to the team and the fans the passion, mentality and determination that have always distinguished me, as a player and as a coach.”

After finishing seventh in the Premier League table last season, you would imagine that Tottenham fans will be hoping that Conte can come in and hit the ground running straight away and help guide them higher up the league table and be challenging in and around the Champions League spots this term.

Conte starts his league campaign with Spurs underway on the road against Everton, who sit just one place below them in the table currently and who themselves have been on a poor run of form, losing their last three matches in a row.
