Former Tottenham Hotspur player Graham Roberts believes that Lucas Moura is the only Spurs player that deserves any credit so far this season.

The 29-year-old joined Tottenham from Paris Saint-Germain in 2018 and has gone on to make in excess of 170 appearances, where he has scored 34 goals and provided a further 20 for his teammates.

Will Tottenham win any silverware this season?

During this campaign the Brazil international has featured 14 times, scoring two goals and registering one assist, and Roberts believes that he is the only player from Nuno Espirito Santo’s disastrous reign that deserves any credit.

“I think the only one with credit this season has been Moura. I think that was the turning point on Saturday when he took him off and the crowd turned on him and that was it. You can’t take the player off because any one of ten players could have come off and he took the wrong person off,” Roberts told This is Futbol.

Following the defeat to Manchester United, Nuno and Tottenham parted ways, with former Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte replacing him in the dugout at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Conte’s first game in charge of his new side was against Vitesse Arnhem in the UEFA Europa Conference League, with Spurs running out 3-2 winners and Moura got on the scoresheet as he scored the second goal for Tottenham.
