Former Tottenham Hotspur player Graham Roberts believes that Hugo Lloris will be fed up with his defence in front of him.

Spurs have conceded 16 goals in the Premier League this term, which is the second most goals in the top ten currently, with only Manchester United having conceded more after letting in 17.

Have you been impressed with Hugo Lloris this season?

No

No

After Spurs’ recent defeat to Manchester United, Roberts said to This is Futbol: “I would think Lloris is fed up with who is playing in front of him.

“I mean De Gea never had to even move. Why don’t we get that? He’s always having to make a world-class save or pick the ball up out the back of the net,”

Following that fixture Tottenham parted ways with Nuno Espirito Santo and replaced him with Antonio Conte and the Italian oversaw a shutout in his second game in charge, as Spurs played out a goalless draw against Everton at Goodison Park, following a victory in the UEFA Europa Conference League against Vitesse Arnhem.

Spurs did strengthen defensively during the summer as they brought in Cristian Romero and Emerson Royal from Atalanta and FC Barcelona respectively. They also reinforced their goalkeeping department as Pierluigi Gollini signed on loan, also from Atalanta.

Once club football returns after the international break, Spurs’ next four fixtures are against teams that are below them in the league table, as they welcome Leeds to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, before making the trip to Turf Moor to play Burnley and then have successive home matches against Brentford and Norwich.

And after getting his first point on the board as Spurs head coach last time out, you would imagine Conte will want to use that as a catalyst for a good run of form and help push Tottenham up the league table.
