A whole host of Newcastle United fans are excited on Twitter following Lee Ryder’s injury update.

Newcastle United kicked off their new era under Eddie Howe with a 3-3 draw, which their new manager missed as he was self-isolating, but he will be able to take positives from the match, especially with the Magpies playing largely on the front foot.

Will Newcastle survive this season?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Something that didn’t appear to have changed, though, was that the Magpies are still poor defensively as they shipped three goals for the fifth time in the Premier League this season. However, they could be set for a timely boost, with Lee Ryder claiming Paul Dummett is set for a return to action in December.

A lot of Newcastle fans on Twitter are buzzing with this injury update.

What have these Newcastle fans been saying?

“i’ve been fully preparing myself for the fact he might never play again this is the best news i’ve ever seen, i love u lee <3”

@hollyoakleyy

“HOPE!! He stays fit.. best defender we have at the club.”

@Samtoon15

“Fantastic news! We need him”

@LiamBel63205372

“One of our best defenders when fit, will be a big boost for that left cb spot if we can get him fit!”

@jimknowlson

“He’s desperately needed to replace clark”

@LittleHenryD

“Best defender at the club; especially if played on the left side of 3 centre half’s.”

@Assetfs

Dummett has not been seen since Newcastle’s pre-season friendlies and was originally set for a September return, before suffering a setback with his calf injury, according to Ryder.

The defender’s return in December would coincide with the Magpies’ packed and tough fixture schedule, which sees them play the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Leicester City.
