A whole host of Newcastle United fans have been left furious on Twitter following Gabriel Agbonlahor’s latest comments.

Given Newcastle’s worrying position in the Premier League and how wealthy their new owners are, it makes sense to assume they will look to splash the cash when the January transfer window comes around.

However, Eddie Howe was not able to promise fans that there would be money spent during his pre-match press conference, highlighting that they need to attract players, which could be difficult given they’re bottom of the league.

Do Newcastle need a director of football?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

This is not the main reason why the Magpies will struggle to sign players in January, according to Agbonlahor who said on TalkSport that ‘players don’t want to live in Newcastle’ – which doesn’t make too much sense as they signed Joe Willock from Arsenal over the summer, thus swapping living in London for Newcastle.

A lot of Newcastle fans have been left annoyed on Twitter with Agbonlahor’s comments.

What have these Newcastle fans been saying?

“Why when pundits make this argument do they go on like Newcastle is located in Antarctica and London is in the Caribbean”

@nufcpanda

Does he realise how derogatory he is being towards us? Who is he speaking on behalf of!? What an absolute disgrace!! Gabby love, let’s meet and I’ll show you what London hasn’t got. What a disgrace!!@talkSPORT #NUFC he’s probably been no further than the Watford Gap!!”

@beanz2809

“Wouldn’t it be nice to get paid for talking absolute nonsense”

@ChrisPaisley86

“Really Gabby? You’re opinion and you’re entitled to it but to assume no player wants to live in Newcastle is ridiculous! Players will go where they want to go and where they think is best for their career, its nothing to do with wanting to be near London!”

@ILPadrino1994

“this argument is so old and boring now”

@truvulturebare

“Lazy stereotype from an utter clown who hasn’t lived anywhere near the city. Blows my mind he gets money to talk about football.”

@theMN15

“that’s embarrassing that”

A nice and easy one to start off with, how much is Callum Wilson worth?

These comments have certainly angered a lot of Newcastle fans, and it’s no surprise because there have been plenty of players – and even their current manager – who have moved from the south of England to Tyneside, with Howe even claiming he’s only heard amazing things about the place.
