Jeff Hendrick has come in for plenty of criticism from Newcastle United fans in the past, but enjoyed a superb outing on international duty with the Republic of Ireland in mid-week.
His latest international performance left fans eating their words as he was part of an Ireland side that held Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal to a goalless draw on Thursday night. The midfield battle saw him go up against another Manchester United player in Bruno Fernandes.

If Hendrick wasn’t already in Eddie Howe’s plans at Newcastle, if he keeps up performances like that it will certainly help his case pushing his way into his plans.
