Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to discuss Fabian Schar’s performance for Switzerland vs Italy on Friday night.
The Magpies have a new man in the dugout in Eddie Howe who with the international break, gives him plenty of time to settle in and try to start getting his ideas across before taking to the dugout for the first time.
A handful of the Newcastle squad have gone to join up with their national teams, notably Schar. The centre-half helped his country to a 1-1 draw with Euro 2020 champions Italy, and the fact he was able to get game time with the Swiss left many Newcastle fans baffled.

We’re still yet to see what sort of side Howe will look to put together from what he has available to him currently, nor do we know who will actually be signed in January.
All we do know is, it is clear that Newcastle fans would love to see Schar back in the starting side for them. It’s hard to imagine a full international is struggling to get a game at a winless side battling relegation. This is even more shocking when you consider the options available in that position to Switzerland.
