Newcastle United fans were far from impressed with what they saw from Karl Darlow in their 3-3 draw with Brentford.

The Magpies’ hunt for an opening win of the campaign goes on despite scoring three goals at home.

To hit the back of the net on three separate occasions, especially at home, and not come away with all three points would understandably leave people frustrated.

And, one man who came under fire from the St James’ Park crowd was Darlow, who shipped in another three to ensure the Magpies remained win-less.

What did the Newcastle fans have to say?

“Why the hell isn’t Dubravka playing?” @SonicElevation

“Sub Dubravka on.” @David4NUFC

“Bad goalkeeping.” @VISCAMESSI

“Having seen that goal it’s about time Dubs is back in goal, Darlow leaking too many goals.” @dellynel

“How Darlow still keeps his place is very surprising, he keeps on making these blunders, very sure Dubravka will be back for the next game.” @itsmeandyg

“Darlow has been at this all season. Howe needs to get on the phone and get Dubravka in!” @CraigGartland

“Darlow again. Get him sold” @Nufc2Everything

“Darlow is a shambles but apart from that watching toon now is already something I’ve craved for so long  10 days and Howe has changed whole mentality” @SirJakeMurphy

“Karl Darlow is dreadful. Eddie Howe now has his number 1.” @DeccaGardener75

“I think this could come back to haunt Howe. Dubravka doesn’t make those mistakes as often. Darlow is a liability.” @LittlerGeordie

“Darlow is championship level at best” @finnaz1892

It’s clear that their frustration is aimed at Darlow more than Howe, but if he doesn’t give Martin Dubravka the number one slot, the pressure from the fans could build, especially if Karl Darlow continues his poor form.

Although scoring three goals, the usual frailties from Newcastle are still there, leaving the fans extremely unhappy.

Obviously the fans feel that a change of ‘keeper is necessary, whether Howe agrees with them or not remains to be seen, but I’d be surprised if Dubravka doesn’t return to the side.
