The report by Matt Law suggests the 56-year-old travelled to Saudi Arabia last week to begin discussions with the Toon’s new owners to discuss the role at St. James’ Park.

And Newcastle fans flocked to the claims being relayed by NUFC360 on Twitter as they shared their delight at the concept of the ex-Chelsea man’s appointment.

What did these Newcastle fans have to say?

“This is a cracking appointment if it comes off.”

“We are massive”
“I suggested this at the onset. this will be massive”
“Would be immense this”
“He’s really good, I’d love him”
“That would be outstanding. Hope we can get him, i like the sound to the music so far”
“Article sounds promising. 100th DOF linked now though so just want anyone remotely competent through the door before the Jan window”

The Toon announced the appointment of Eddie Howe as their new manager on Monday, with the 43-year-old having the international break to work with his side before their next game against Brentford.

It seems these fans would be delighted to see Emenalo join as their director of football, which is understandable considering he was a part of a Chelsea side that won a number of different trophies between 2007 and 2017.
