A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to Twitter to voice their delight at the latest transfer claim to emerge regarding the Tyneside club.
According to journalist Ekrem Konur, the Toon are interested in the possibility of signing Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek in the January transfer window.
Would Van de Beek join NUFC?

No
It is believed the Magpies are considering a transfer offer of €20m (£16.9m) with the Dutchman’s future at Old Trafford in doubt, while Everton are also said to be interested.
Toon fans flocked to Twitter as they shared their thoughts on the possibility of bringing the former Ajax man in as they aim to survive the drop into the Championship, with some speculating whether the rumour is a sign of the Magpies being close to bringing in current Ajax boss Erik ten Hag to St. James’ Park.
Ten Hag was previously linked to the vacant Spurs job in the summer, while he has been mentioned as a potential successor to Steve Bruce – with The Mirror recently suggesting the Toon hierarchy are eager to offer him the role.
What did these Newcastle fans have to say?
“Perfect Next @EdsonAlvarez19“
The 24-year-old has had a torrid time since signing for the Red Devils, having played just 511 minutes in the league last season and a staggering six minutes of Premier League action this campaign (via Transfermarkt).
But with the player looking to leave Old Trafford, would Van de Beek be open to joining a club that are struggling in the league despite the high ambitions of the new owners?
