Newcastle United fans were left frustrated after a 3-3 draw at home with Brentford to kick the Eddie Howe era off.
As has often been the case in the last 18 months, the shining light for Newcastle was once again Allan Saint-Maximin.
The tricky French forward has the ability to get fans off seats with his silky skills and quick feet, and when he’s on it he really is a delight to watch. He scored the third goal for Newcastle and the final goal of the game in the six goal thriller, and the fans were grateful for him yet again.
What the Newcastle fans had to say
“He is so god damn fine!” @NUFC_Keegan
“Outstanding today.” @ToonMouthTyne
“A God amongst men.” @MoMorrison21
“THE BEST FRENCH PLAYER IN THE LEAGUEEE.” @JakeNUFC__
“I love you so much.” @LiamNUFC98
“YOU BEAUTYYYYYY.” @GeorgeYToon
It’s clear to see just how much the Toon Army loves the ‘Gucci Man’ and his performances. It feels like he’s been carrying the entire attack on his back for a while now, so we’d love to see what he could do with some better players around him – over to Howe in January then!
Saint-Maximin finding his best form straight away in Howe’s era will be a great sign for all Newcastle fans. If he can keep performing, he can start picking results up on his own.
