Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on the ELEVEN Football YouTube channel about Liverpool’s interest in signing a new winger.

Liverpool may be forced to dip into the January transfer market for an attacker if Roberto Firmino is going to keep picking up injuries this season and to help them cope with the loss of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, who will be jetting off to the Africa Cup of Nations at the end of the year.

Will Salah leave Liverpool this summer?

They have been linked with a move for Leeds United’s Raphinha, with his agent Deco confirming previous interest, but they reportedly are looking towards former Bournemouth winger Arnaut Danjuma, according to Romano, who is now performing well at Villarreal.

Romano has confirmed Liverpool’s interest in the winger.

He said: “For Liverpool, it will be another complicated window, because they want a winger. Mane and Salah leaving means they need a winner.

“They need an important one. I’m told that the player they really love is Danjuma from Villarreal. This boy is doing great with Villarreal, but he’s 100% not leaving the club in January. So let’s see if they will find that opportunity.”

TIF Thoughts on Liverpool’s interest in Danjuma…

It’s no surprise to see Liverpool sniffing around Danjuma given how impressive he has been out in La Liga as he has the second-best dribble completion percentage of players to have attempted more than two dribbles at the club.

However, with Romano claiming that Villarreal won’t be selling Danjuma – and rightly so given how important he’s been, as he’s their top scorer in the league – but it will now be interesting to see if Liverpool splash out big on a winger who may then be relegated to the bench once Salah and Mane return.
