A whole host of Leeds United fans on Twitter have reacted to Phil Hay’s latest post surrounding the potential of transfer activity in the new year at Elland Road.

During Marcelo Bielsa’s time in charge at Leeds, they’ve rarely done business during the January transfer window, but given their current run of form and the number of injuries they have picked up, they may have to dip into the winter market this season.

Will Leeds be relegated?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Leeds are still without Luke Ayling and Patrick Bamford with Bielsa refusing to put a timescale on when either player will return, and Hay has argued that Leeds cannot afford to once again ignore the January transfer window.

A lot of Leeds fans on Twitter are saying the same thing in response to Hay’s post.

What have these Leeds fans been saying?

“We need a whole new squad (minus Diego, Kalv, Raph, Pat, Shacks and James) and a competent management team to build around them.”

@BateProp

“If you don’t think we do then you clearly don’t watch Leeds”

@Dyer1998

“If Bamford isn’t available then a striker is a priority, our lack of goal threat could cost us big time”

@stickeyshoney

“I think a failure to strengthen in January could see people turn on the current regime. If we don’t, we could go down.”

@L33ds_Un1t3d

“Barring a miracle turnaround with injuries I don’t think they can afford not to, time to roll the dice.”

@DemonswithR

“Striker is the main one needed…and not one from poundland either ! The rest of our weaker positions can be filled by rejigging current players . Not buying one will spell disaster in my opinion.”

@MoeSyzlac

“If we don’t get anyone we don’t deserve to be in the league tbh”

@lufcZxch

Leeds proved last season that when their players are fit and healthy, they can give any team in the league a good game, having taken points off Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea. But keeping people fit is not a guarantee, so it may make sense for them to dip into the transfer market.
