A whole host of Leeds United fans on Facebook have slated Daniel James after his performance against Leicester City, which also saw Micah Richards slam the winger’s composure.

James was a long-term target for both Leeds and Marcelo Bielsa as he was famously close to signing back in January 2020 on deadline day, only for Swansea City to get cold feet, but this summer, they finally got their man as they shelled out £26 million to Manchester United for the winger.

Will Leeds United finish in the top ten of the Premier League this season?

No

It has been a less than impressive start for James, who’s started seven games so far but has failed to register a single goal and just one assist – and this could be down to the absence of Patrick Bamford, but then again, that doesn’t seem to be bothering Raphinha too much on the opposite flank.

The Wales international started once again against Leicester City on Sunday afternoon and despite playing 90 minutes, the winger failed to even attempt a single dribble during the game (FBRef) so, even though Richards had claimed ‘James actually did really well’ when speaking on Match of the Day 2 (47:54), the stats say otherwise – and it’s clear to see why these Leeds fans are annoyed.

A lot of Leeds fans on Facebook are fuming with Daniel James’ display.

What have these Leeds fans been saying?

Something that could be holding James back and what fans may have to think about before slating the winger is that he has already played in four different positions since moving to Elland Road, so it must be difficult to gain any kind of consistency when being deployed all over the pitch.
