Many Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter after Brazilian superstar Raphinha revealed that he believes he can achieve his career ambitions at Elland Road.

Ever since his arrival in Yorkshire from French outfit Rennes in the summer of 2020, Raphinha has been a revelation in the Premier League, scoring 11 goals and providing nine assists in the 41 games he has played for the Whites to date (via Transfermarkt).

The 24-year-old, who former Premier League defender Alan Hutton described as a ‘nightmare’, has told BBC Radio Leeds he believes he can achieve his career’s ambitions at Elland Road.

Asked whether he can fulfil his career goals with Marcelo Bielsa’s side, Raphinha responded (via Leeds Live): “Without a doubt.

“When you bring together players with a real, strong, winning desire together with the manager, the coaching staff, fans who love the club, you create a wonderful atmosphere in the stadium and at the training ground.

“Marcelo Bielsa demands a lot of us. We know that. We’re used to it. We listen to him. He helps us develop and evolve as players, as professionals.

“We listen to him, and we play his style of football. That’s the football that has put us, that has given us attention in the Premier League, made us stand out in the Premier League and made Leeds a Premier League team.”

Subsequently, many Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react to the former Rennes player’s remarks on his future at Elland Road:

What did these Leeds United fans make of Raphinha’s remarks?

“I think we’ll be lucky to hold on to him past January, no chance this summer. Money talks”

@highway87

“He’ll be gone in summer 100 million”

@Parksey78

“Can’t see him moving before the World Cup IMO. His after forcing his way into the Brazil team so he won’t any to unset that. So that’s at least next season we will get out of him”

@ROI_LUFC

“I honestly think he could turn out to be the best player ever to put on a Leeds top. Wish we would sit down with him now and extend his contract for another 2 years with a 150 mill sell on clause, I know contracts don’t mean much but would make any move for him a lot tougher”

@leethomas101

“What more can you say about this incredible footballer. He is just simply world class. Come on super Leeds”

@MikeCla83361830

“Get the statue up and name a stand after him”

@DanP_LUFC

“Love this guy”

@ringaldo

Raphinha has already scored five goals in the league this season, just one shy of matching his six from last term, and will be hoping to help Bielsa’s side return to winning ways in the league after losing 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur in their most recent league outing when they travel to The Amex Stadium to take on Graham Potter’s Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday evening.

Clearly, the fans are delighted that he seems committed to the cause.
