Many international football fans have been reacting to the performance of Leeds captain Liam Cooper during Scotland’s win against Moldova in World Cup Qualifying.

Ahead of the encounter in Chisinau last night, Steve Clarke’s side knew that a victory for their side would secure a World Cup 2022 qualifying playoff spot by overcoming minnows Moldova at Stadionul Zimbru.

Ultimately, Clarke’s side were able to clinch the qualifying playoff spot as they won 2-0 courtesy of goals from Nathan Patterson and Che Adams and one player who, according to the fans watching at home, produced an excellent performance was Leeds defender Cooper, who helped the Scots to an invaluable clean sheet against Moldova.

What did fans think of Liam Cooper’s display vs Czech Republic?

“Someone who I think deserves enormous credit is Liam Cooper. He’s captain of a big Premier League club and barely gets any minutes for us, yet he still comes to every camp and never complains. He’s been happy to be a squad player but tonight was great for him. Legend!”
