Many international football fans have been reacting to the performance of Leeds star Kalvin Phillips during England’s 5-0 victory against Albania in World Cup Qualifying on Friday night.

The 25-year-old was named in Southgate’s camp to face Albania and San Marino this month in England’s final two World Cup Qualifiers ahead of Qatar 2022.

The Leeds star, who endured an excellent Euro 2020 campaign for his national side this summer in helping Southgate’s men reach the final, once again impressed on Friday evening within a two man central midfield alongside Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.

Do you think that Kalvin Phillips will still be a Leeds player at the start of next season?

Many fans have subsequently taken to Twitter to hail Phillips, who Jamie Redknapp previously described as a player ‘who makes football look easy’, display against Albania.

What did fans think of Kalvin Phillips’ display vs Albania?

“Phillips was like a metronome in the midfield for England tonight. Completely set the tempo and rhythm of the game. As soon as he went off, England lost their shape but it was job done by then”

@jim_odgen

“Fell apart when he went off”

@StuartYorky

“Solid performance as always from our lad”

@_RobboParker

“The call of duty. He delivers every time”

@ChanniPatel

“Rock solid in the engine room”

@leepikeLUFC

“If it really means that much to you KP can bring Hendo a souvenir from Qatar”

@freddiehiggins_

“The fake hate towards Kalvin Phillips being in the England starting 11 is hilarious. Destroyed 3 of the worlds best CMs at Euro’s. Voted England’s player of the year. Would fit into any team in the Prem and majority of fans would be ecstatic if he was in their club.”

After the resounding win against Albania,  England take on San Marino in their final World Cup qualifier in Group I and require just one more point to automatically seal their place in next year’s Qatar tournament.
