Lots of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to hail England ace Kalvin Phillips’ display despite the Premier League defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Against the Lilywhites, Marcelo Bielsa decided to play the England star in a centre-back role alongside Liam Cooper on Sunday afternoon.

And, despite their defeat against Antonio Conte’s side, Philips produced a fantastic individual display against the north London outfit as he nullified the threat of England teammate Harry Kane, while also showing great authority and composure on the ball throughout the encounter.

Do you think Leeds need to strengthen in January?

After watching his performance, many Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to praise the performance of the 25-year-old England ace:

“Phillips MOM by a country mile. Got to enjoy every game he plays, because he’s ridiculously good. Brilliant first half, didn’t do enough in the second to get anything out of it. 3 massive games next…play like that and get a few bodies back we’ll be ok”

“Was a good match that changed hands in the second half. Phillips, exceptional. James and Gelhardt played very well.”

“100 year contract for Kalvin Phillips please”

Bielsa’s side will be looking to return to winning ways in the league when they take on Graham Potter’s Brighton side at the Amex Stadium next Saturday evening as they seek to reignite their league campaign and surge up the league table.
