A lot of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to vent their frustrations with the latest news to emerge ahead of their Premier League clash against Leicester City on Sunday.
It has been confirmed that officiating the game at Elland Road on the weekend will be referee Darren England and operating VAR will be Peter Bankes.
Are you worried by Leeds' start to the season?
Yes
No
36-year-old England has been in charge of just nine Leeds games over the course of his career, in which the Whites have won on four occasions, drawn twice and lost three times (via Transfermarkt).
Only one of those nine games has come in the Premier League – the 2-2 draw at home to Everton back in August, which saw the Toffees awarded a first-half penalty.
Leeds fans flocked to a tweet from relaying the news of England’s appointment for their clash at Elland Road and it was apparent this was not taken kindly.
What did these Leeds fans have to say?
“Is there any decent refs?”
Despite Marcelo Bielsa’s men picking up all three points last weekend against Norwich City, the Whites still find themselves just one spot outside of the relegation zone.
And it seems the appointments of England and Bankes do not have these fans very optimistic for Sunday’s game after the penalty England gave against them in the clash against Everton earlier this season and a penalty call Bankes had rejected last term.
