A lot of Leeds United fans have flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on the latest news to emerge ahead of their next Premier League clash.

On Monday, it was revealed referee Andre Marriner had been appointed for the Yorkshire side’s upcoming game in north London against Tottenham Hotspur.

Throughout his career, Marriner has officiated 19 Leeds games in which the Yorkshire side has won just seven times, with just one red card has been shown (via Transfermarkt).

Alongside Marriner’s appointment, it was revealed 36-year-old Darren England will be operating VAR on Sunday for the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Leeds fans flocked to Twitter to share their frustrations with the news as the Whites go into the game just three points adrift of the relegation zone.

What did these Leeds fans say?

“Jo ruining my weekend on a Monday ignorance is bliss on certain occasions! “

“Why does it we seem to have the same 2 or 3 refs?”
“He’s like most premiership refs not fit for purpose! All have thier own agendas and favour certain clubs”
“I’ve only seen one decent referee so far this season, and I cant remember which one it was, but it wasn’t Mr Marriner.”
“He’s hit or miss, really.”
“Darren England on VAR is a bigger issue”
“May as well not bother they are all really poor”

As for England, Sunday’s VAR operator has refereed 10 Leeds games, with the Whites winning four of those clashes (via Transfermarkt).

It is apparent these Leeds fans are not impressed with the appointments, however, it is not surprising given they have won just 11 of the combined 29 games these two officials have overseen.
