A lot of Leeds United fans have flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts at footage to emerge from Tuesday night’s EFL Trophy defeat to Salford. 

The Leeds U21 side tasted defeat against the League Two outfit as Gary Bowyer’s Ammies ran out as 5-3 victors to see the Leeds youth outfit eliminated from the competition.

Leeds had taken an early lead against the EFL side through an early Max Dean strike, however, Salford’s experience prevailed as they turned around the deficit and saw off a late surge despite Bate’s 69th-minute goal.

The goal on Tuesday night was Bate’s first of the campaign across his 12 appearances in all competitions, having signed from Chelsea in the summer for a believed £1.58m.

Leeds fans flocked to Twitter to share their delight as footage of Bate’s impressive goal surfaced online.

The 19-year-old has played every minute of every Premier League 2 game for the Whites; however, the youngster is yet to receive a call-up to Marcelo Bielsa’s senior side, unlike Joe Gelhardt.

Although the midfielder has not made the matchday squad for Bielsa’s side yet, it is apparent these fans were left impressed by his goal on Tuesday night and some feel he could soon be promoted to the senior side in the near future.
